Helping neighbors in their time of need

Established in 2015, the Illinois REALTORS® Relief Foundation can help those living in communities that have been affected by natural disasters. Established by the Illinois REALTORS®, IRRF is a 501(c)(3) organization developed solely for the purpose of helping in a time of need. 

Aid available for victims of the 2017 northern Illinois floods

IRRF has approved funds to assist those living in Kane, Lake and McHenry counties who have been displaced or sustained property damage from record floods. NAR's REALTORS® Relief Foundation (RRF)  is also offering assistance to July flood victims in northwest Chicagoland.

Who is eligible for IRRF aid? 

Anyone who is a full-time Illinois resident, a U.S. citizen and who meets the criteria of the program is eligible to obtain funds. 

  • Relief assistance is limited to $500 per application. 
  • Assistance can be used for the applicant's home needs.
  • Assistance is need-based and other forms of assistance may be taken into consideration when awarding grants. 
  • All grants made through IRRF are based on availability of funds and applications are reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis. 

How to apply for IRRF aid:

Fill out the IRRF application and submit it to disasterrelief@illinoisrealtors.org.

Who reviews the IRRF application?

IRRF has a board which reviews each application. Every effort is made to review applications in a timely manner. IRRF reserves the right to accept or reject applications, and for good and sufficient reasons cancel any grant that has been made. 


NAR's REALTORS® Relief Foundation (RRF) is also offering assistance to July flood victims in northwest Chicagoland

The RRF can provide up $1,000 for qualified applicants for either:
  • the monthly mortgage expense for a primary residence damaged by the July 2017 flooding or
  • the rental cost for temporary shelter due to displacement from the primary residence because of the flooding.
  • The guidelines of this fund are different, so make sure to review this application closely before submission to make sure you meet the criteria.
