
Illinois is one state that mandates continuing education (CE) for its licensees during each two-year licensing period. These courses keep real estate professionals current on topics such as ethics, agency, legal issues, license law, antitrust and finance.
Managing Broker CE | Broker CE | Ethics Requirement
Real Estate Broker Licensees renewal deadline is April 30, 2014. Broker licensees must complete 12 hours of CE, a minimum of six hours of Core (one Core A, one Core B) and six hours Elective. CE must be completed in the pre-renewal cycle of May 1, 2012 through April 30, 2014. If you were licensed 90 days prior to the renewal deadline you will be issued a license with the renewal deadline of the next cycle thereby allowing you an additional 2 years to complete your CE. The Illinois Association of REALTORS® Licensing and Training Center has classroom, online and home study options available to complete this training.
Real Estate Managing Broker Licensees renewal deadline was April 30, 2013. Managing Broker licensees must successfully complete 18 hours of CE (a minimum of nine Core and nine Elective) on or before April 30, 2013. The Core hours should include one (1) Core A and two (2) Core Bs. The Illinois Association of REALTORS® Licensing and Training Center has classroom, online and home study options available to complete this training.

All REALTORS® must complete 2.5 hours of Code of Ethics training within given four-year cycles according to NAR policy. The current four-year cycle will end Dec. 31, 2016.
