Planning for the needs of seniors is a key priority and challenge for the region. The country’s population of older residents has grown significantly over the past several decades and is projected to continue growing. According to the United States Administration on Aging, the number of residents who are 65 and older will more than double by 2040, reaching approximately 81.2 million and representing 20 percent of the nation’s population.
The Illinois REALTORS® Senior Housing Working Group works with real estate professionals to meet the housing needs of this special group. The Working Group has prepared a list of resources related to senior housing issues.
