Need Broker Management CE by April 30? IAR Can Help You Keep Your License
The Illinois Association of REALTORS® will hold a series of five, two-day classes designed to get managing brokers the 12 hours of broker management continuing education credit they may need to retain their license by the April 30 deadline. Managing Brokers, Did You Get Your Yellow Card in the Mail?
The Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) has opened the renewal for Illinois Managing Broker licensees. April 30 is the deadline and IAR has guidelines, CE requirements and a new webinar option for the Broker Management CE (required if you transitioned your license by Proficiency Exam).

REEF Scholarship Deadline is April 1
Applications for the Real Estate Educational Foundation’s (REEF) Academic scholarships must be submitted by April 1, 2013. These scholarships provide financial support to talented college students and real estate professionals. Since 2000, REEF has awarded scholarships totaling over $308,200. Nation’s Housing Inventory Continues to Drop
U.S. housing inventory, already at an 11-year low by the end of 2012, fell even more in January, the Wall Street Journal reports. "There were just 1.48 million homes listed for sale at the end of January, down by 5.6% from December and by 16.5% from one year ago."
RealtyTrac: U.S. Foreclosure Starts Hit Six-Year Low in January
Nationally, foreclosure starts in January were down 28 percent compared to a year ago and marked the lowest level since June 2006, according to the latest RealtyTrac report. In Illinois, a judicial foreclosure state, a jump in auctions pushed the state's foreclosure rate higher. But the Chicago Tribune reports that while Chicago-area foreclosure starts were up compared to December, they are down compared to a year ago.
