CORE COMPETENCIES
Core competencies are those essential programs and services that the Association offers, allowing IAR members and firms to be more successful collectively than they can individually while reflecting the Association’s mission, vision and organizational objectives.
There are four (4) Core Competencies that benchmark the 2010 - 2012 Strategic Vision:

We acknowledge that the real estate market is changing:
- Consumers are smarter, more capable and have access to far more resources than ever before
- New sales and communication channels are opening up
- Younger buyers and sellers are accounting for a greater share of the market.
In this environment, brokers and agents need to increase their levels of competency to better serve an evolving market. To help this process, the following areas will be priorities for the Illinois Association of REALTORS®:
