Recent news from the Illinois Association of REALTORS'® (IAR) state and local lobbying efforts. IAR has more than a dozen lobbyists fighting on behalf of our members. The lobbying is handled by our State Capitol lobbyists, and through RVOICE, a cadre of lobbyists working with REALTORS® in their communities statewide.

Successes abound in March 20 primaries. The Illinois REALTORS® Political Action Committee funded several "Opportunity Race" activities this election, reaching out to registered REALTORS® in support of targeted candidates in both state and local races. (3/29/12)
DeKalb housing task force weighs landlords' concerns.  A task force is reviewing a draft ordinance that could force rental property owners to register and pay as much as a $75 annual fee. (2/29/2012)
Rental Registration targeted.  The Illinois Association of REALTORS® backed landlords in Belvidere who oppose a proposal which would force registration for rental property. (2/28/2012)
Fight against blacklisting.  The North Shore Barrington Association of REALTORS® has filed a report with Evanston officials accusing the city of blacklisting properties around Northwestern University. (2/24/2012)
