SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — REALTOR® Lynn Madison, ABR, ABRM, BPOR, GRI, SFR, SRES, SRS, has received the 2014 Illinois Association of REALTORS® (IAR) Political Involvement Award. Madison is owner of Lynn Madison Seminars in Schaumburg.
The award was given for outstanding political and legislative service to the REALTOR® organization. The announcement was made at the association’s Public Policy Meetings held at the Embassy Suites Hotel and Riverfront Conference Center in East Peoria, Ill., Jan. 19-22.
A nationally known real estate educator, Madison is equally committed to fostering grassroots involvement and political advocacy in the REALTOR® community at the local, state and national level. Not only is she a major investor in the REALTORS® Political Action Committee (RPAC) and a member of the RPAC President’s Circle, she is among an elite group of REALTOR® advocates who have been inducted into the RPAC Hall of Fame for lifetime contributions of $25,000.
“Lynn is a true believer in the power of REALTORS® working together to have a voice in the policy and political issues that affect the industry,” said Jim Kinney, ABR, CRB, CRS, GRI, president of the Illinois Association of REALTORS®.
During her real estate career, Madison has been actively involved in the REALTOR® organization from serving and chairing numerous committees, furthering professional and educational standards and working on RPAC fundraising efforts.
Her IAR committee service has been notable, including the many years she has served on the Political Fundraising Working Group, Major Donor Working Group and Major Investor’s Working Group.
Madison’s political involvement extends to the national level where her service to the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) includes being a member of the RPAC Participation Council.
Madison is the 2015 president-elect of the Mainstreet Organization of REALTORS® and is a past recipient of the local association’s REALTOR® of the Year award and Distinguished Service Award. In 2011, she was honored at the state level as the 2011 Illinois REALTOR® of the Year.
She is a former Dean of the Illinois REALTOR® Institute and is a certified continuing education instructor in more than 40 states. She is Instructor Training Institute certified, is a member of the Real Estate Educators Association and has been honored as NAR’s Educator of the Year.
Madison is a senior instructor for the Real Estate Buyer’s Agent Council (REBAC) and the Accredited Buyer’s Representative program. She was inducted into the REBAC Hall of Fame in 2004. She speaks at state real estate conventions and facilitates professional standards and leadership training for state and local associations.
