REALTOR® Phil Chiles, ABR, CRS, GRI, SRES, of Springfield is the 2015 Immediate Past President of the Illinois Association of REALTORS®. He is a Broker-Associate with the Real Estate Group in Springfield.
A past president of the Capital Area Association of REALTORS®, he served his local association on numerous committees including leading its Executive, Community Service, Governmental Affairs committees, and served as a member of the Multiple Listing Service and REALTOR®/Developer committees.
On a statewide level, Chiles has served as chairman of the Illinois Association of REALTORS® (IAR) Public Policy and Government Affairs Member Involvement Group and as a member of the Strategic Planning and Executive committees, REALTORS® Political Involvement Committee, REALTORS® Political Action Committee Trustees, GSE Reform Task Force and Education Rules Task Force. He received an IAR Presidential Medallion for his contributions to the state association in 2008. Chiles is a National Association of REALTORS® Federal Political Coordinator Team Member for Congressman Aaron Schock and is the key State Legislative Contact for State Representative Wayne Rosenthal.
Chiles was named in 2012 to represent REALTORS® on the Radon Resistant Building Codes Task Force, a panel that oversees the implementation of a new Illinois law governing mitigation of the potentially cancer-causing gas. Chiles has attained the designations of Accredited Buyer’s Representative (ABR), Certified Residential Specialist (CRS), Graduate REALTOR® Institute (GRI) and Seniors Real Estate Specialist (SRES).
On a national level, Chiles currently serves on the NAR Board of Directors and is a member of the State and Local Issues Policy Committee.
On the community level he is very active in Habitat for Humanity and has participated in the construction of more than a dozen Habitat projects including trips leading Illinois REALTORS® in helping to rebuild Hurricane Katrina-damaged areas in Mobile, Ala., coastal Mississippi and New Orleans. He currently serves on the board of Habitat for Humanity of Sangamon County.
Chiles is a Vietnam Veteran having served in the United States Marine Corps. He is a Capital Township Trustee and has served as a commissioner for the Sangamon County Historic Preservation Committee and as a board member for Contact Ministries. He is the co-owner of Levi Home Construction, Inc.
Chiles and his wife Peggy reside in Springfield. They are the parents of three grown children.
