Real Estate Disciplines

Following are recent disciplinary actions taken by the Real Estate Division of the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation, http://www.idfpr.com/News/Disciplines/DiscReports.asp 

• A real estate leasing agent license was placed in refuse to renew status and fined $5,000 for engaging in misleading advertising.
• A real estate leasing agent license was placed in refuse to renew status and fined $5,000 for engaging in misleading advertising by placing advertisements for rental properties using the name of a real estate company that did not sponsor him.
• A real leasing agent license was placed on probation for 24 months due to his 2007 conviction for aggravated domestic battery.
• A real estate broker license was indefinitely suspended for a minimum of one year for the conviction of a felony (fraud).
• A real estate broker license was automatically revoked for his failure to comply with the terms of a Consent Order.
• A real estate broker license was fined $950 for misrepresenting the completion of continuing education on his license renewal.
• A real estate broker license was fined $500 due to a sister-state discipline in the state of New Hampshire.
• A real estate broker license placed on probation for 180 days due to a discipline of his Indiana broker license.
• A real estate broker license was indefinitely suspended for a minimum of one year and fined $25,000 for his failure to release earnest money after a listing agreement was cancelled and buyer and seller authorized its release.
• A real estate salesperson license was revoked for being more than 30 days delinquent in the payment of child support.
• A real estate salesperson license was fined $800 for misrepresenting and not timely taking required continuing education.
• A real estate salesperson license was placed in refuse to renew status due to her failure to remit moneys coming into her possession that belonged to others.
• A real estate salesperson license was placed in refused to renew status due to her failure to provide information requested by the Department.
• A real estate salesperson license was revoked for failure to comply with a disciplinary order issued by the Department.
• An unlicensed firm was ordered to cease and desist the unlicensed practice of time share sales.
