REALTOR® Sue Miller Receives Illinois Association of REALTORS®
Distinguished Service Award

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — Sue Miller, ABR, CRS, ePRO, GRI, LTG, SFR, managing broker with Coldwell Banker Honig-Bell in McHenry, was named a recipient of the Illinois Association of REALTORS® 2013 Distinguished Service Award. The award honors individuals who have provided outstanding contributions and service to the Illinois Association of REALTORS® (IAR) and their local communities. Miller received the award Oct. 1 at the IAR Business Meetings in St. Charles, Ill.

Miller, a licensed managing broker, continuing education instructor and pre-license instructor, began her real estate career in 1987. She has been actively involved in the Heartland REALTOR® Organization (formerly the McHenry County Association of REALTORS®), serving as president in 2004 and 2013. She was named her local association’s REALTOR® of the Year in 2004 and 2010 and was the local association’s 1997 Distinguished Member of the Year.

Miller has been an active member of the Illinois Association of REALTORS®, serving multiple terms on the IAR Board of Directors and lending her expertise to more than 30 committees including leadership roles as chair of the Education Working Group, Technology Working Group and the Grievance Committee.  She is a “Sterling R” contributor to the REALTORS® Political Action Committee (RPAC). 

For the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR), Miller has served on the Diversity Committee and on the NAR Board of Directors. She is a member of the Women’s Council of REALTORS® (WCR) and is a past president of the Illinois Chapter of the Council of Residential Specialists (CRS). 

A resident of McHenry, Miller has been just as dedicated to giving back to her community. She is a member of the Habitat for Humanity of McHenry County, McHenry Area Chamber of Commerce, McHenry Elementary Education Foundation and the nonprofit community growth planning group, Imagine McHenry County. Miller has also held leadership positions with the McHenry Nunda Public Library District, Riverside Area Business Association and her local school district’s education committee.

Also receiving the 2013 IAR Distinguished Service Award was Al Suguitan, CAE, association executive for the Greater Gateway Association of REALTORS®.

The Illinois Association of REALTORS® is a voluntary trade association whose 41,000 members are engaged in all facets of the real estate industry. In addition to serving the professional needs of its members, the Illinois Association of REALTORS® works to protect the rights of private property owners in the state by recommending and promoting legislation that safeguards and advances the rights of real property ownership.
