Setting the agenda for 2012

Illinois REALTORS® meet Jan. 24-26 to discuss IAR’s political policy objectives for 2012.

On Jan. 24-26, many Illinois REALTORS® will be meeting for the Illinois Association of REALTORS® Public Policy Meetings at the Embassy Suites East Peoria to shape the association’s political agenda and goals for the year.

Why are the Public Policy Meetings so important? It’s an opportunity for IAR members to make sure REALTORS® have a voice in the local, state and federal public policy issues and legislative battles that affect your business.

On the agenda: Pending legal and regulatory issues, the latest Advocacy tools, state and local “hot” topics, upcoming legislative initiatives, community development resources and REALTOR® Political Action Committee (RPAC) fundraising.

Find a complete schedule and link to committee agendas. Political analyst Paul Green returns as the guest speaker of the RPAC Recognition Lunch and will share his insights into the state and national political landscape in this election year. University of Illinois economist Dr. Geoffrey J.D. Hewings will provide a forecast of the 2012 housing market.

IAR will keep you up to date on all of the Public Policy Meeting action — including the Jan. 25 announcement of the 2012 Illinois REALTOR® of the Year — on our website, www.illinoisrealtor.org, and through social media with our blog, IARbuzz.com, our Facebook page and on Twitter (@ILREALTOR).
