REALTOR® Mike Drews Receives Illinois Association of REALTORS®
Political Involvement Award

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — REALTOR® Mike Drews, of Aurora, a licensed real estate broker with Charles B. Doss and Company REALTORS® of Oswego, received the Illinois Association of REALTORS® (IAR) Political Involvement Award at IAR Public Policy Meetings held in East Peoria on January 26.

The award is presented annually to one IAR member who has reached outstanding achievements in the political and legislative activities of the REALTOR® association and has set a standard of excellence in grassroots involvement.

“Mike is a tremendous leader for the REALTOR® Association serving with distinction not only on an organized committee level but through various leadership roles in the political affairs efforts for the association. He is always diligent and responsive to volunteer in dealing with a variety of issues that arise in his community,” said Illinois Association of REALTORS® President, REALTOR® Sheryl Grider Whitehurst, ABR, CRB, GRI, e-PRO.

Drews has been active in the real estate profession since 1979 focusing on residential real estate in the Aurora-Oswego marketplace. He is the immediate past president of the Mainstreet Organization of REALTORS® and has volunteered and served as chairman of various local committees.

For the state association, he currently serves as chairman of the IAR REALTOR® Political Involvement Committee and vice chair of the Federal Political Coordinators Working Group and Public Policy and Government Affairs Member Involvement Group. He is a current member and three-time chair of the IAR Professional Standards Committee, and he also serves as a member of the Board of Directors for the Illinois Association of REALTORS®.

Drews is a two-time major donor to the REALTORS® Political Action Committee and serves as the Federal Political Coordinator for Congressman Randy Hultgren and is the key State Legislative Contact for State Representative Kay Hatcher.

For 2011, Drews serves as a member of the National Association of REALTORS® Professional Standards Committee and REALTORS® Political Involvement Committee.

Active in his local community, Drews has served on the Board of Directors for the Aurora Family YMCA and is active in the local Aurora Rotary Club. He lives in Aurora with his wife, Kay.
