Steve Bochenek is chief legal counsel for the Illinois Association of REALTORS and a partner with the law firm of Sorling, Northrup, Hanna, Cullen and Cochran, Limited in Springfield.

Bochenek has been a member of the Illinois State Bar Association Real Estate Law Section Council for over a decade and served as its Chairman in 1992.

He is licensed to practice in the state of Illinois and is admitted to the bars of the U.S. District Court for the Central District of Illinois, the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States Tax Court.

He has authored many articles and lectured on numerous topics involving real estate and the real estate brokerage industry.

Betsy Urbance, is an attorney with the Sorling Law Offices in Springfield, Illinois, and has been Legal Hotline Attorney for the Illinois Association of REALTORS for over 10 years.

She received her undergraduate degree in Finance from Western Illinois University and her law degree in 1987 from the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Law. She is licensed in both Illinois and Missouri.

As Legal Hotline Attorney, Betsy answers an average of 373 real estate-related legal calls and e-mails per month on topics ranging from advertising and escrow to personal assistants and procuring cause. She writes articles for real estate related publications and is a licensed CE instructor. Betsy knows firsthand the topics of most importance to Illinois REALTORS.
