Illinois REALTOR® of the Year

John Veneris, CRB, CRS, of Downers Grove was named the 2009 Illinois REALTOR® of the Year. The announcement was made at the Illinois Association of REALTORS® (IAR) Business Meetings in Springfield on March 12. A REALTOR® of the Year banquet will be held in Veneris' honor on September 15, 2009, at the Westin Hotel in Lombard.

Veneris is the broker-owner of Realty Executives Pro/Team in Downers Grove. With a real estate career spanning 30 years, he has been actively involved in the REALTOR® organization at the local, state and national levels, lending his expertise to leadership development, technology and real estate finance issues, and advocacy for private property rights and the real estate industry.

The REALTOR® of the Year award is presented to an IAR member who best exemplifies the professional qualities of a REALTOR®. The award recognizes leadership and service in civic, community and charitable causes, as well as activity in the REALTOR® Association.
