Help IAR Build Homes for Habitat for Humanity 

Roll up your sleeves, grab a hammer and show what the Power of R can do! Illinois REALTORS® are dedicated to promoting the dream of homeownership and this year the Illinois Association of REALTORS® will build three Habitat for Humanity homes in the state. Builds are planned forMurphysboro beginning in April, Springfield beginning in May and Aurora beginning in July. Spread the word and click here to find out how you can lend your time and talents by volunteering for a build in your area. 






Don't Miss the March 19 Registration Deadline 

Wednesday is the deadline to register for the Illinois Housing Leaders Conference on March 31 and the IAR Capitol Conference on April 1 in Springfield. This year's Housing Leaders Conference tackles the timely topic of Boomerang Buyers who lost their homes during the recession but are ready to buy again. Shari Olefson, director of the Carnegie Group and author of "Financial Fresh Start" is the keynote speaker. Attendees will also have the opportunity to earn three hours CE with Lynn Madison. Stay in town for IAR's annual REALTOR® Lobby Day and get the chance to lobby state legislators on issues important to your business. Get Out the REALTOR® Vote Today

When you head to the polls today for the Illinois Primary, vote for pro-REALTOR® candidates who understand and support your business interests. IAR/RPAC has identified 10 "Opportunity Races" for state and local offices including REALTOR® Mark Batinick (97th District) who is running for an open seat in the Illinois House. Find the list of Opportunity Race candidates.

REALTORS® Join Fight to Save Scott Air Force Base

Illinois REALTORS® are joining the battle to preserve the southern Illinois military base, which could be targeted as part of a Base Realignment and Closure process. The Illinois Association of REALTORS® has donated $100,000 to the effort and the REALTOR® Association of Southwestern Illinois and the Greater Gateway Association of REALTORS® have donated $50,000 each toward keeping the base open. Read more on the IARbuzz blog

Broker Renewal Deadline is April 30. Take a New Quiz to Get Ready

Illinois Brokers, don't be caught unprepared. Take this new quiz to test your knowledge about the approaching license renewal deadline on April 30, 2014. Sample question: Submitting a renewal application without completing the necessary CE requirements prior to the deadline can result in a fine. True or false? Answer: True. A renewal applicant who fails to complete all of the CE requirements can be fined up to $75 per three hour course, or $25 per credit hour, for each deficient requirement.
