Miller, Suguitan Honored with IAR Distinguished Service Medals

REALTOR® Sue Miller, managing broker of Coldwell Banker Honig-Bell in McHenry, and Al Suguitan, association executive for the Greater Gateway Association of REALTORS®, have been honored for their years of outstanding service and leadership to the REALTOR® profession.

Five Recognized for Leadership with IAR Presidential Medallions

Michael D. Oldenettel, 2013 IAR President, honored five people with Presidential Medallions for their service this past year including: REALTORS® Charlie Heitbrink, Jean Crosby, Lynn Madison, Deena Zimmerman and IAR Director of Professional Development Wayne Edwards. 

IAR Swears in 28-member Board of Directors to Lead in 2014

In an effort to increase efficiency and engagement, a smaller, 28-member board of directors was sworn in during last week's IAR Business Meetings in St. Charles, Ill. Find the list of board members serving for the 2013-2014 year

In a successful Call to Action campaign, Illinois REALTORS® sent nearly 4,500 messages to the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District, prompting commissioners to make changes to improve the ordinance before it was passed last week.

This Week's Q&A on the 2014 Broker License Renewal

By April 30, 2014, Illinois Broker licensees must have completed the CE requirements and applied to renew their license through IDFPR. IAR's Licensing & Training Center has created a Q&A and checklist to help you get ready. This week's question:

  • Q: What are the fees for renewal? A: The $150 Illinois licensing fee must be paid to the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) by April 30, 2014

More Young Adults Living at Home = Pent Up Buyer Demand Later

The number of young adults under 35 who are living at home is at its highest level since 1981. When those individuals move toward home ownership, it would boost sales by 200,000, according to NAR research

NAHB: Housing Recovery to Grow Stronger in 2014

The existing-housing market has seen steady sales and price gains and the chief economist for the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) said new home construction also is expecting a strong recovery in 2014 and 2015.
