Oakbrook Terrace Pro Standards Workshop to be Held Wednesday

The IAR Professional Standards Workshop at Drury Lane in Oakbrook Terrace will be held Wednesday, Jan. 8 as scheduled. Find a schedule and download session handouts. The Pro Standards Workshop in Springfield, which had to be cancelled Tuesday due to extreme weather, will be rescheduled at a later date.

CFPB Wants to Hear Your Complaints About the Mortgage Closing Process

The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) is asking for REALTOR® feedback on the problems they encounter with the mortgage closing process. The agency is looking to improve the home buying process for consumers. NAR has the details on submitting your responses to the Federal Register by the Feb. 7 deadline.

2014 Interest Rates on Rental Agreement Security Deposits for Chicago and Statewide

For the city of Chicago, the rate of interest on security deposits under rental agreements during the 2014 calendar year will be 0.013 percent. This rate also applies to the city of Evanston. For the rest of the state, however, the 2014 rate of interest will be 0.005 percent.
