Qualified Mortgage Rules Now in Effect. What it Means to You 

The Qualified Mortgage (QM) rule went into effect on Jan. 10 and NAR will be among those monitoring the rule to determine its impact on mortgage availability, NAR reports in a Speaking of Real Estate blog post. Findmore information from NAR on the new federal QM credit rules.

REALTORS® Providing Housing Aid for November Tornado Victims

Illinois REALTORS® and their national colleagues are providing housing assistance grants of up to $1,500 for victims who need help with the cost of temporary shelter if they have been displaced or to cover a monthly mortgage expense if their home was damaged by the tornado. The deadline for applications is March 1, 2014. Find information and a grant application. The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) recentlydenied the state of Illinois' request for federal aid. You can help Illinois tornado victims by donating to the two organizations below:
