2010 President-Elect Sheryl Grider Whitehurst

REALTOR® Sheryl Grider Whitehurst, ABR, CRB, e-PRO, GRI, of East Peoria is the 2010 President-Elect of the Illinois Association of REALTORS®. Active in real estate for 28 years, Grider is the Development and Operations Coordinator for Traders Realty in Peoria.

She is a past president of the Peoria Area Association of REALTORS® and was honored as its REALTOR® of the Year in 1991. Grider has a long history of participation with the local association, serving on the Board of Directors and on various committees including the Professional Standards, Education and Legislative committees.

On the statewide level, Grider has chaired a variety of Illinois Association of REALTORS® (IAR) committees including Finance, Community Service, CE Curriculum, and Professional Standards committees.

Grider has lent her expertise to many other IAR committees with a particular focus on REALTOR® education. She served as chair of the Professional Development Member Involvement Group and she played a key role in the Education Working Group. She also served on the Business Issues/License Law Task Force and the Statewide Ombudsman Task Force.

In 2010, Grider will serve as chair of the Strategic Planning Committee and as vice-chair of the IAR Executive and Leadership committees and the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) Political Advisory Working Group.

For the National Association of REALTORS®, Grider has served on the NAR Board of Directors as well as a member of the Professional Standards and Communications committees.
